The ancient bush vines of this Great Western vineyard date back to at least 1890. Incredibly low yielding. they produce intensely flavoured fruit

Handpicked and trucked to the Yarra Valley winery, the fruit is then whole bunch pressed and racked to large (800-litre) French barrels where it is left to ferment with indigenous yeasts. After 8 months on lees, the wine is bottled with a small amount of residual sugar (15gms/l), for balance.

"Pale, green-tinged yellow. Seductive aromas of ripe peach, pear and orange, with a floral topnote. Supple and expansive on the palate, with juicy, mineraltinged peach and melon flavours complemented by suggestions of honeysuckle and lemon. An agile acid structure allows the flavours to dance over the palate. Closes round, supple and very long, leaving floral and mineral notes behind.”
